Webcomics using game sprites...
This Wired article is pretty interesting. I've read a couple of strips like this in the past and some of them were pretty nicely done. Another example of technology evolving in interesting ways.
Personally, I wanted to make a yo-yo webcomic at some point. Seemed like there was plenty of material to work with, but lack of art was a real issue. I may have been able to hobble something together, and perhaps I'll still try at some point. Still, an interesting idea might be to get someone to make a bunch of "sprites" for you which you could then re-use. A lot cheaper than hiring a full-time artist, while also avoiding copyright issues...
